A browser-based editor for process flows and swimlane diagrams. Describe a process or snap a photo of a sketch, and AI drafts a first version for you to refine.
Documenting how a process works usually means an afternoon of placing boxes by hand in a general drawing tool. Meanwhile, the whiteboard sketch where the team actually worked it out often dies in someone's camera roll.
Flowmatic is a focused, browser-based editor for process flows and swimlanes, where AI does the first draft. Describe a process in plain language, or photograph a whiteboard, a sketch, or an existing diagram, and you get an editable diagram back. Then ask for changes in plain language and refine it by hand, alone or together in real time.
It is deliberately limited to process flows and swimlanes rather than being a general drawing tool, and it is currently in an invite-only preview with a waitlist.
AI handles the first draft, and a focused editor gives you the tools to refine and share it, alone or with your team.
Describe a process in plain language, the way you would explain it to a new colleague. AI drafts the whole flow, with the right shapes, lanes, and connections.
Take a photo of a whiteboard, a paper sketch, or an existing diagram. A phone camera works, and what comes back is an editable diagram rather than a picture.
Ask for changes in words instead of rearranging boxes by hand. Each AI edit counts as a single step, so one undo reverts the whole change.
Twelve shapes, each available as a modern card or a classic flowchart shape. Cards carry a title, description, icon, and color, and time estimates add up across the flow. Decisions, sub-process steps that link to another diagram, styled connectors, snapping, a minimap, and one-click auto-layout round it out.
Organize a process into vertical or horizontal lanes to show who handles each step. Optional phase bands divide the flow into stages.
Share with people or a whole team as a viewer or editor, or send an expiring link you can revoke. Collaborators' cursors and edits show up live, and you can export a PNG at 3x resolution or save a .flowmatic.json file.
The AI is there to save you from the blank canvas. The editor is built so that a person stays in control of what the diagram says.
The AI is limited to Flowmatic's own catalogue of shapes and rules. Everything it produces is checked against that catalogue before it's drawn, and corrected if it's off.
The AI only describes the steps and how they connect. Flowmatic lays out the diagram itself, so the result is always clean and editable.
When it works from a photo, the AI is instructed not to add steps that aren't shown. The draft is meant to capture what your team drew, ready for you to check against the original.
An AI edit is a single undo step, and nothing is saved until you click Save. Flowmatic does not train AI models on your diagrams.
